My eldest sister, Linda, studied in Bodø for a period. For some reason our mother found out that Linda had to be searched. And it was a visit! I don't remember much about the travel plans, but I remember well that we used my grandfather's orange-brown VW Golf for large parts of the trip. We had a friend or colleague of Linda's with us on the trip.

On this trip I was in the right age group where I knew Pelle police car. I don't remember where we were, but we had a break where we bought dinner at a shopping centre. When I looked out the window, I looked straight down at the selceste Pelle police car! When I had finished dinner, I was allowed to go downstairs to take a closer look at Pelle. It was great to meet a national celebrity! By the way, it was perhaps in the same place that we crossed the main road at a transition. I thought this was a strange experience, since I had never looked down on a road before.
At Kjerringøy we strolled around the scenes of some well-known TV series that had aired on Norwegian TV. We stumbled upon a small shop that sold, among other things, sweets in kremmerhus. Later in life I found out that kremmerhus usually contain sewing items. That's why I always look at kremmerhus with skepticism.
We also got to see Saltstraumen. It was exciting to see the whirpools in the sea!

We had a visit from Canada. Of course we had to showcase Norway. Then we took an organized trip called "Norway in a nutshell". I don't remember much of the trip, but I saw how beautiful Norway is.

On one of our cross-country ski trips, a long and steep hill was the first challenge. After conquering both the first hill and the rest of the mountain, it was time for the return. As is tradition, I was the one who attacked the downhill slopes with the greatest enthusiasm. On this trip, the problem was that the rest of the group had not made it halfway back down when I stood at the top of the last hill.
I finally got tired of waiting, so I made a little jump and sped downhill. The speed increased. Time stood still. Snow on my face. The sound of wind and skis blowing down the hill. The speed was high. Far too high. My face suddenly became cold and covered in snow. Then I lost my balance and fell! As quickly as I fell, I was back on my feet and standing the last few meters downhill.
I continued to wait at the bottom of the hill. The wait was getting too long, so I went back up the hill. After a good while of even more waiting, the rest of the group finally arrived.
I stood back down. When he had finished two-thirds of the way down the hill, I fell again, rolled around twice, landed on my feet and continued downhill on my skis. It was at this point that my father realized that I had to go up the alpine slope. On a snowboard! Since then I have hardly ever gone cross-country skiing.
1999: Norway
Time: Summer
Places / cities: Strynefjellet, Geiranger, Lom, Sognefjellet
During the summer of 1999 there was room for a trip to Norway, so it became a road trip. One of the days we found a nice place on Strynefjellet and set up camp there. This was where we would camp. While there was still snow in the mountains I decided to take a dip in the pond nearby. It was a refreshing experience. Night came and I felt brave enough to sleep under the open sky. It got so cold that during the night I had to go into the tent to get a little warm.

Svalbard is one of the magical places that has left its mark on me. The first trip I had there, my parents and two neighboring families were there. The neighboring families were Kvalheim and Berge.
We hired snowmobiles to go sightseeing on our own. Finn and I shared a snowmobile. It turned out that Finn was a brave man. At one point we were going down a narrow dump and up the other side. The trip down the dump went well. When I started on the uphill I gave a little extra gas to get to the top, but it turned out to be a little too much gas. At the top of the hill, the snowmobile lost ground contact! The snow splashed in all directions as we crested the top, as if we were recreating the scene from E.T.! We were about to fall off when the snowmobile landed with a hollow "BUMP!". I heard Finn sigh in relief.
At the end of the trip - when they drove over a frozen Adventfjorden - Finn and I were at the front of the pack. Finn signaled to slow down and swerve to the side. Of course I did as he said. The braking went well. But it didn't go so well with the swing. Hans Magne had not braked enough and swerved too sharply. The snowmobile took off on one side. Fortunately, we were both fast and heavy enough to account for the movement. Again a relieved sigh came from Finn.
Since then I took it a little more calmly.

Another day, a small group of us went up one of the mountains near Longyearbyen. We young people had brought snowboards and skis with us, so now we had to stand "off-piste" down the mountains. This was magical! Not everyone has experienced snowboarding in Svalbard!
At the top of the mountain we were on, there was a large flat that sloped down in the direction of Longyearbyen. On the return, we found out that those of us who had equipment on our legs could be pulled by the snowmobiles over this surface. For some strange reason, I got such a good moment that I passed the snowmobile I was being dragged behind. Weird stuff.
Otherwise we got to stay at both dog sled and Barentsburg. And the bar named "The House". Believe it or not, this was a house!

On this trip we went on a dog sled sightseeing tour. The carriage used was an old VW Bubble without engine, roof and doors. I got to steer the "cart" while the guide rode alongside. The mother got into a conversation with an older woman who recognized our surname: She herself was from Vigra, where Rørvik is located. Unfortunately I don't remember the lady's name.

2003: Norway
Tidspunkt: Sommer
Plasser / byer: Oslo

2011: Norway
Places / cities: Volda, Ørsta, Oslo
This was one of the most special road trips I have experienced. I had agreed with a friend in Ørsta to have a photoshoot with her on Sunnmøre, and at the same time agreed with a Norwegian national film celebrity to meet the person in Oslo.
I drove to Ørsta and had my first photoshoot with a scantily clad lady before I set my sights on Oslo. On the road - most likely after Geiranger - I experienced clear skies before I drove into a tunnel, but when I came out at the opposite end, it was thickly covered, I could not see more than 5 meters in front of me!
When I arrived in Oslo I had problems with the brake discs, so the car had to go to a workshop. I had planned to spend the night in a car and didn't have the money to spend the night in a hotel. Then the choice was easy; I found a bench at a train station and spent the night there until the next day.
After a night on the bench, I took the light rail to X and met Camilla Wolf Bodin, an unsung heroine in Norwegian film production. It was GREAT to meet this beautiful, knowledgeable and inspiring film producer. This is a cafe visit I won't soon forget.
